Rivolto is the Italian Air Force base home to the Frecce Tricolore, Italy's national aerobatic team. On May 1st, it will be open to the public with an exhibition and aerobatic display.
It is truly impressive to witness the precision and perfection with which the Italian aerobatic team understands and demonstrates their flying skills. Flying aircraft with such accuracy and precision is simply a highlight in aviation, especially by global standards.
Today, it is no longer a given that military aircraft, particularly high-performance jets flown by military personnel, are presented to the public at airshows. This is to demonstrate the purpose of the aircraft and their pilots and their capabilities. Whether it is right and appropriate not to present military aircraft at airshows requires critical consideration. After all, very large sums of public funds are invested in military aeronautical equipment and financed by tax revenue.
It is therefore perfectly understandable that the public wants to see a detailed demonstration of the results, capabilities, and possibilities that have resulted from the use of taxpayers' money. What benefits, including those for potential national defense, have been achieved? Military airshows and flight demonstrations serve precisely this purpose.
The military application of our technical knowledge of aircraft construction, as well as the extraordinary pilot qualifications demonstrated in aerobatics, always means deploying the best possible resources for national defense. It's about the ability to safeguard and protect the interests and living conditions of the civilian population. The question of motives and purpose is not something we pilots need to ask ourselves first. Aircraft manufacturers and pilots, especially military aerobatic pilots, want to provide the public in which they live with a perfect job at the highest level. That is what they work for. Uncompromisingly dedicated and extremely goal-oriented.

Its very existence proves that world-leading precision technology in aircraft construction has its absolute purpose. Rivolto ist die italienische Luftwaffenbasis auf der die Frecce Tricolore, die nationale Kunstflugstaffel Italiens, zu Hause ist. Am 01. Mai ist sie mit Ausstellung und Kunstflugvorführung für das Publikum geöffnet.
Es ist schon sehr beeindruckend wenn man erlebt mit welcher Präzision und Perfektion die italienische Kunstflugstaffel ihr fliegerisches Handwerk versteht und vorführt. So genau und exakt Flugzeuge zu fliegen ist einfach ein Highlight in der Fliegerei. Gerade auch nach weltweiten Maßstäben.
Heute ist es nicht mehr selbstverständlich dass Militärflugzeuge, insbesondere Hochleistungsjets und von Militärpersonal geflogen der Öffentlichkeit auf Flugtagen vorgeführt werden.Um zu zeigen, wofür die Flugzeuge und ihre Piloten da sind und welche Möglichkeiten sie haben. Ob es richtig und angemessen ist Militärflugzeuge nicht auf Flugtagen vorzuführen, bedarf kritischer Gedanken. Immerhin werden in die militärische aeronautische Rüstung sehr große Summen öffentlichen Vermögens investiert und aus Steuermitteln finanziert.
Es ist daher nur allzu verständlich wenn die Allgemeinheit vorgeführt haben möchte, was eigentlich an Resultaten, Fähigkeiten und Möglichkeiten im Detail aus der Verwendung der Steuergelder an Resultaten vorhanden ist. Welcher Nutzen, auch zu einer potentiellen Landesverteidigung, erzielt worden ist. Gerade diesen Zweck erfüllen militärische Airshows und Flugvorführungen.
Die militärische Anwendung unserer technischen Kenntnisse von Flugzeugbau, sowie außerordentliche Pilotenqualifikationen die im Kunstflug gezeigt werden, bedeutet immer das bestmögliche zur Landesverteidigung einzusetzen was man zu bieten hat. Es geht ja um die Fähigkeiten die Interessen und die Lebensumstände der zivilen Bevölkerung abzusichern und zu schützen.
Aus welchen Motiven und zu welchem Sinn und Zweck ist eine Frage, die wir Flieger uns nicht an erster Stelle fragen müssen. Flugzeugbauer und Piloten, gerade auch militärische Kunstflugpiloten, wollen einen perfekten Job auf höchstem Level der Allgemeinheit in der sie leben zur Verfügung stellen. Dafür arbeiten Sie. Kompromisslos engagiert und extrem Ziel gerichtet.
Die italienische Kunstflugstaffel mit ihrer Heimat Airbase Rivolto im nördlichen Italien ist nicht weit entfernt von Österreich und anderer Top Luftwaffenstützpunkte militärisch verbündeter Luftstreitkräfte. Sie beweist mit ihrer Existenz, dass weltweit führende Präzisionstechnologie im Flugzeugbau seinen absoluten Sinn hat.
Und sie zeigt dass Flugzeuge von absoluten Spezialisten, den Kunstflugpiloten der italienischen Streitkräfte geflogen, zu Leistungen fähig ist, auf die wir Piloten und Flugzeugbauer insgesamt stolz sein können. Dass die Fliegerei ganz allgemein Spitzenleistungen hervor bringt, die sonst nicht erreichbar wären.
